My name is Monica Kinney. I began teaching in 1996 as a 1st grade teacher at a private school in Philadelphia, PA. I came to Prince George’s County Public Schools in 1997 as a first grade teacher at Tayac Academy. While at Tayac, I decided to go back to school for my masters in Instructional Technology. In 2001 with 6 classes under my belt, I became a school based technology coordinator for James McHenry Elementary School. After a few years I moved on to the Regional Technology Coordinator position and now I am a Technology Trainer working with the district’s training office.
Goals for Me
As a member of the Sharing Technology with Educators Program, my goals are to:
Introduce new technology to teachers and administrators
Model best practices for technology integration in the classroom
Dialogue with teachers for additional ideas to improve my own professional develop
